Optimization of design solutions


This is a check of the existing design documentation in order to replace it with improved alternatives of engineering equipment, and to optimize the structures.

When optimizing design solutions, the composition of engineering equipment is checked first. Designers, as a rule, use top-end equipment from leading manufacturers in the project. This approach is justified from the point of view of reducing the risks of reliability, however, on the market, as a rule, there are analogues of such types of equipment with similar reliability and a lower price. It is possible that instead of using one piece of expensive equipment, it can be cheaper to use two pieces of cheaper, albeit less reliable equipment. Engineered redundancy with duplicating elements, albeit with a lower reliability of each, can be much more reliable.

If necessary, re-calculation and optimization of metal and reinforced-masonry elements of the project can be performed to reduce their weight or reinforcement coefficient, which also lead to decrease in the cost for the construction of the facility.

As a result of design solution optimizations, the customer receives updated specifications or sections of the project and a detailed calculation of changes in its price.

From our experience, the result of optimization can lead to 10% savings from the original cost.
